WAYNE BOUCHER : VISUAL ARTS + PROJECTS
Wayne was the recipient of the 2006 Nova Scotia Portia White Award for excellence, innovation, and expression in the arts. The recipient a Canada Council Established Artist Grant in 2001, other successes include winning the 2004 juried competition to execute the mural entitled Réveil for the new Interpretation Centre at Grand-Pré National Historic Site. Boucher became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy in 2002. In 2012, “Drowning in Colour” http://vimeo.com/71404777 was the first comprehensive documentary to be made about the Art of Wayne Boucher directed by Alan Collins. In 2014, three of his paintings were selected for meeting room carpets at Canada House, London, UK.http://youtu.be/YrLDOQNEszU. In 2019, Boucher donated the painting “We Rise Again”, 2011, 60” x 84”, oil on canvas to the Annapolis Royal Friends of the Library. The painting is in the the lounge area of the Annapolis Royal Community Hub.
