TRANSITIONAL STUDIES 2013-Current
INTRODUCTION:
Transitional Studies 2013 is a body of new studies to be used as stepping off points for the development of large format work. They indicate a directional change to the process of the application of color informing content, and the revisitation of the black schematic image into the work is as a result of the "Black and Blue" Touring Exhibition with Don Pentz in 2012-13. This new body of work was completed between January and April 2013 encompassing three series of studies.
RED, BLUE, AND GREEN WINGED STUDIES:
The first body is more anthropomorphic relating to the figure with wings (angels) after the work "Angels Wings on Fire".
BLACK SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS/PAINTINGS:
The second body of work re-introduces the black schematic drawing back into the work using the black and white patterning and schemata of a butterfly wing working.
COMBINED BLACK SCHEMATA WITH COLOUR:
The third body of work shown uses the black and white schematic drawings in dialectic with the coloured environs of paint. All works are oil on terra skin paper and vary in sizes from 6"x 6" to 8" x 8". All works are untitled,
